About our Program - Frequently Asked Questions.

 1. What is New Beginnings?

A support program for new or struggling homeschoolers. New Bees receive support by attending our web or physical location workshops.

New Bees also receive specialized help and support through our private e-loop. This e-loop provides support by continuing the discussion after the workshop is concluded. The e-loop is also where member questions are answered in-depth and personalized curriculum help is given.

Our goal is to provide support and education for our members. We feel that it is this personalized attention and support that truly helps the New Bee or struggling homeschooler to find their "homeschool legs" and to navigate around the pitfalls and snags that many encounter in their homeschool journey.

We have found that while their are numerous websites, books and other homeschool helps available, actually having someone to talk to and interact with provides so much more. So our preferred method of support is in "person" by workshops, attendance through our web workshops and our e-loop.

It is in this unique, personal setting that our New Beginnings Leaders can listen to your worries and answer your questions.

2. Does this mean that if I don't have a location close by I shouldn't join New Beginnings?

No. You can "attend" through our web workshop and "attend" our program via the web. We have many members that "attend" via the web workshops and receive their 1:1 help and support through our e-loop.

3. Is New Beginnings JUST a support group?

No. It is education, a support program, a curriculum laid out with topics that you consider in working through the Student Manuals you receive with registration.  At a few workshops you have "homework". :o)

It is EDUCATION for the EDUCATOR.

4. Where are the physical locations?

We have three Texas locations. They are Dallas East (Hunt County), South Houston and The Woodlands.

5. Are your workshop locations only in Texas?

Yes, but again our support program is not "location specific". Our workshops are just another perk if you live near one.

We want to see every new or struggling homeschooler succeed! So we encourage even those that don't have a location nearby to join New Beginnings and let us help via our web workshop and e-loop

6. Why do I need to join a support program like this?

You don't. BUT you will be so much more in the "know" so to speak. Our information, we feel, will fast forward you to have several years worth of experience. There is no need to struggle year after year, if you take the time now to get what you need.

7. What is the difference in joining your group and my local group in the city I live in?

New Beginnings is unique in that we exist just for the "new or struggling" homeschooler! We work with your local support group and back them. However, we encourage you to give us your FIRST YEAR and we encourage you to be with your local group YEAR after YEAR.

8. Is this a support group for my children and for field trips?

No not directly--but in a way, yes--- because your children benefit so much. Our support group exists for the new home educator. But we feel if you will take the time to increase your depth in understanding the homeschool world, then you will be a much better teacher to your child.

Many times when new homeschoolers begin to homeschool, they try to "fix" the socialization niche instead of concentrating on how they are going to approach this new journey. So by receiving education for the educator, then you will be connected to other support groups and know how to "make" field trips happen for your children.

9. Can I bring my children to the locations that have physical workshops?

Nursing babies are welcomed.

But as mentioned before, you need to begin to carve out a small niche of time for yourself each month. This will aid you to grow in your confidence and too it will allow us to speak openly and candidly about issues you may be having with your children without them being present.

So leave the children and then ready to be encouraged by meeting with other new homeschooling parents like yourself.

10. Can I bring my husband (or wife) to the workshops that have a physical location?

Absolutely!!!  We realize your support system is important and we welcome spouses and even parents and in-laws if they are going to homeschool along with you.
